These are personal care supports - the personal tasks of daily life. These are dependent on your NDIS plan and may include:
Self-care assistance is designed to assist and/or supervise the client to live independently or to regain a level of independence after injury or illness. Daytime Self-Care Assistance standard – Weekdays. By assisting and supervising the participant’s daily tasks, the participant will learn to live independently.
High intensity daily personal activities such as bowel and bladder management, or tracheostomy care are complex and carry a higher level of risk than simpler daily personal activities. Because of this, these activities require highly skilled and professional nursing care. The NDIS specify a that their providers must take special care to hire professional workers with the appropriate knowledge and skills to provide high quality and safe supports.
Improved Daily Living describes capacity building for an individual. This means funding to help you achieve your NDIS goals. It might look like assessment, therapy, or training to build independence and participate in your community. As an example, our client might have a goal to attend a hobby group - to improve daily living and achieve this goal our client might be able to access physiotherapy to improve mobility to get to the group more independently.
Self-care NDIS is help with your daily bathing routine to feel clean, confident and refreshed. As part of these supports, clients can receive assistance to have a shower, go to the toilet and get dressed each day. Depending on the level of support you are eligible for, Self-Care can be classified as Assistance with daily activities at home, work, or in the community.
Wound care begins with excellent attention to skin integrity and prevention of pressure areas that break down the skin. Some support workers (Nurses) can care for your skin and wounds. If you are needing assistance with wound are or pressure area care, we can provide you with highly trained nurses who are experts in skin care and wound management.
Personal Activities Services support you to undertake your daily activities. Whether you live alone, are trying to remain active in work, education, or social life, we can assist you with supervision or assistance to perform your personal activities. If your budget is an important consideration for you, we can help you with the core supports needed to improve your skills in daily living. In this way, we can help you to live independently.
